Trapping Bush Babies ð¤©

We had a *super* busy weekend, with back to back trapping trips over 3 days.

We’re talking over 1000km of travel as we have to return home regularly to care for our own fur-babies and fosters.

Why so much travel?

Because the colonies we help manage are around 250km from where we live.

ð³

Crazy? ð Probably lol.

But way-out Wheatbelt towns don’t have as many options as Perth does.

So all hands are needed to try and keep the stray cat populations under control.

For both cat and native animal welfare.

At the moment, a colony in Kulin is exploding in numbers! ð¥

It happens SO fast, as kittens as young as 16 weeks old can become pregnant.

Thank you to the land owners who have given us permission to trap on their properties!

And the handful of Kulin residents who contribute in so many different ways. ð

As mostly self funded foster carers, we pour extreme amounts of our own money and time into keeping Kulin ‘stray cat clean’.

And it’s actually an impossible task without assistance.

Impossible for us alone but very achievable with community support.

They’ll be cared for, fed, parasite treated, vet checked, sterilised, microchipped, vaccinated (the whole kit and caboodle) … â

Then adopted into loving homes through the registered rescue,

We also spotted 2 more litter siblings with the mumma in the bush.

But unfortunately mumma kept those babies out of our traps. ð

So they’re still out there now.

Please place shallow water bowls in shady areas for stray and native animals! ð¦
