Introducing 🥁 Tank… 👋

Introducing 🥁 Tank… 👋

He’s a stray Kulin ex-tomcat we trapped in Spring last year.

But last year was SO crazy busy with kittens everywhere that I didn’t have time to tell his story.

So it’s high time this lad has his moment in the spotlight! 😺

Tank had a wound above his ear, most likely from fighting other toms.

Plus some ‘trap damage’ to his nose.

We called him Stanky Tanky as his urine 💦 STUNK to high heaven!

That’s intact tomcats for you 🤢

A neuter spot became available so I jumped at the opportunity to get his ear treated whilst under anaesthesia.

Fast forward and Tank has made a fair chunk of progress.

He can be patted whilst eating, loves his food and enjoys playing with Big Blue’s bushy tail 😄

Surprisingly, he tested negative for FIV!

That’s good news for Tank and his future adoption opportunities 👏

Sometimes I hear people say that feral cats can’t ever be friendly.

But we are literally, every day, working with feral cats like Tank.

As are many other foster carers the world over.

Because feral is just a feeling.

A learned set of behaviours.

And feelings can change.

It happens all the time 😽
