Art is my favourite hobby. âï¸
ð¤
It’s been many years since I made time to draw…
But I’ve decided to get back into it! ð¤©
I still have a lot to learn…
And a lot of practise to do…
But here goes… ð¤
This sweet SAFE Avon Valley kitty from Kellerberrin is my current subject.
Hello Mistletoe! ð
She came into Freedom’s care just before Christmas…
With 11 others from her colony! ð²
Then in January, another 13 arrived!! ð±
That’s what happens when colonies get out of control. ð¬
Not surprisingly, Mistletoe was very underweight initially. ð¢
But she’s a healthy girl now, somewhat on the shy side… who loves to be tenderly stroked while she’s dining. ð½
I began the drawing by asking Colin to print out a black and white A4 copy of the photo.
(He speaks ‘printer’ better than I do. ð)
Then I chose which paper best suited the mediums I was planning on using…
Graphite and my all time favourite, carbon!
ð¤
My Huon lightbox allows me to faintly pencil in the main ‘landmarks’, meaning I spend less time on getting proportions accurate, and more time on what I enjoy most…
Everything else haha. ð
Teddy Bear has been keeping me company, of course.
And often bumps the pencil, causing some interesting marks on Mistletoe’s face lol. ð
I’ll be sharing my progress over the next week…
And the finished drawing will be available to download for $2 through SAFE Avon Valley.
All proceeds will go towards the care of Mistletoe and her mates. ð¯
