Mr Darcy’s day at the vet… 🧡🦷

Recently, his bottom tooth has been getting ‘caught up’ in his top lip. (Ouch)

Leading to some irritation and thickening of the skin. 🥺

This happens fairly commonly when a top tooth has been removed apparently.

And Darcy had a cracked top incisor removed in 2023, around the time he was neutered.

We don’t know how his tooth got cracked as it happened while he was a stray. 🤷

The most viable option is to have the bottom incisor on that side removed also.

This is an expensive surgery however, and can come with some complications to the jaw.

So for now, we are keeping a close eye on the situation and treating him with an anti-inflammatory when required.

He’s still an active, smoochy lad who loves his food and is happy to chew his way through a meal.

Darcy’s backstory is a little different to many of our other fosters.

He is the only stray we have ever found on our own property. 😳

And gosh, was he feral!! 😂

Nearly ripped the microchip reader apart.

But he was a great mouser around our hay shed!

Those days are well behind him now though. 🫶

We suspect Mr Darcy is FIV+, which means (unlike his namesake) he isn’t a ‘highly adoptable’ cat.

But that’s OK.

He has a home here with us and our
