Ranga at the vet on Thursday…
That cough he had last year came back again…
At around the same time this year. ð¤
Not surprising really… It’s cat flu season unfortunately ð¬
So once again we’re on flu patrol…
Keeping a lookout for the sneezes, watery eyes, coughs and other symptoms.
Ranga is a bit of a ‘special case’ though.
A master ‘funky cat’ ð
He has a personality too big to fit in his body.
So he’s always on the move, always ‘talking’ when he doesn’t get enough attention.
And by talking, I mean YOWLING! ð
Plus he eats like there’s no tomorrow.
ð¥´
Which means that sometimes he also coughs after gulping down his food.
So we started using a slow feeder last year, which does (somewhat) slow him down.
Apart from the cough and some sneezes, his lungs sound fine, which is great news. ð
He’s been prescribed Fenbendazole (to ensure he doesn’t have lungworm) and Doxycycline (an antibiotic to deal with the secondary respiratory infection).

Ranga is our barn cat at the moment, so if you have a large workshop, stable or shed and are able to spend time with Ranga regularly, then he may be the perfect cat for you! ð¤©
He does require a quality wet food diet and may need a veterinary checkup every year (which is a good idea for any cat).
But other than that, he’s low maintenance really.
And has a LOT of love to give! ð¤
