Vet check update… ❤️‍🩹

Vet check update… ❤️‍🩹

Milo was tired Wednesday afternoon.

His resting heart rate was concerningly low.

And his weight had dropped.

🥺

What’s going on with his weight? 🧐

Firstly, he isn’t eating enough.

And secondly, he needs to be eating food with the appropriate nutrition for a growing kitten.

This has been challenging, to say the least! 😬

Last Saturday evening Milo experienced a short lived (half hour) but bad case of diarrhoea. 😨

We don’t know what caused it, but he had been eating a lot of food (independently and via syringe).

Which included Recovery, Advance wet kitten food and also a few small pieces of cooked white chicken meat.

So at the first check-up, he weighed in at about 1.6kg.

(A kitten his age should weigh around

1.8 – 2kg)

His second check-up on Wednesday was after the diarrhoea episode happened.

So his weight had dropped to around 1.3kg, even though he had been eating small, regular meals from the morning after the incident.

The good news was that his poops had been great during this time. 👌

No large, voluminous poops like previously.

And no diarrhoea.

BUT, he needs to put on weight. ⚠️

So that’s where we’re at.

Food, glorious food. 😋 And lots of it.

Please keep Milo in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏

He is facing challenges every day and it is still too early to know what the future holds for him.
