Welcome from the Wheatbelt, Milo 👋

This little lass was found injured on a farm near Kulin.

She’s only nearly 4 weeks old. 🥺

It appears that a predator grabbed her, as she has puncture wounds on top and underneath her neck. 😬

We don’t know how she managed to survive and escape…

But Milo was found by good hands.

Hands that fed her and began to treat her injuries (thank you Aykayla!) ❤️‍🩹

The wound on her throat quickly became an abscess that burst 😬 and so a call out was made for emergency transport to get little Milo to a vet.

We had not one but THREE offers of transport 😲 (thank you Wheatbelt!) and so by yesterday little Milo was in our care (thank you Bella!) and started on veterinary prescribed treatment (thank you Heartlands!)

Today Milo’s injuries have been seen by the vet and we are cautiously optimistic about her future. 🙏

Stay tuned for some REALLY cute footage of a pint sized cup of Milo… 🤗

Her little life has been a whirlwind over the last few days. 🌪️

But she is a spunky lass who seems determined to beat the odds!

Attempts are being made to locate Milo’s mumma and siblings. âœ

Dorian update… ✨

He’s home and healing! 👏

Surgery went well (enucleation and neuter 😳).

Both ends ‘fixed’ in one go! ðŸ˜

Thank you Heartlands Veterinary Hospitals 🙏

Dorian has been very interested in eating Royal Canin Recovery food, so that’s a good sign.

He is FIV positive (unfortunately).

But so far we are very happy with his recovery progress. ❤️‍🩹

Sebastian’s scary story… 🫣

His neuter surgery went perfectly…

(And he is FIV / FeLV *negative*! 👌)

But poor Sebby had a reaction to intubation

and found it hard to breath the following day.

😬

If you’ve ever seen an animal struggling to breath, you’ll know how scary it can be!

We immediately sought veterinary advice, gave him oxygen and monitored him throughtout the night.

😵‍💫

Thankfully after a couple of hours he felt comfortable enough to curl up and get a good night’s sleep.

Unlike me ðŸ˜

By morning, his breathing was fine, though his throat was still a little uncomfortable.

And now he’s back to his version of ‘normal’.

❤️‍🩹

But Sebastian has immune system dysregulation, causing really severe stomatitis.

He is very prone to inflammation in his mouth and throat.

Stomatitis is truly an awful condition! 😥

And while Sebastian has been prescribed medication to keep the symptoms under control, it’s not a good long term solution due to the side effects.

What he needs is an FME.

A Full Mouth Extraction of all his teeth.

This will give him the best chance of living a happy life, free from pain and inflammation.

And so that’s what we are now going to be fundraising towards. 🫶

It’s another expensive surgery…

But with community on our side, anything is possible!

A couple of weeks ago, Sebastian (the floofy ginger teen from Balga) and Patme (one of the tabby teens from Kulin) had the most important surgery of their LIVES!

Yes, they were neutered ðŸ˜

Dramatic, I know lol. But SO true.

Patme came through with flying colours…

But Sebastian, who has an underlying health issue, needed some extra support during recovery.

When he’s out, he’s out like a light ðŸ˜

Fred sleeps on a dog blanket in our bed at night.

So a diaper is a must as he’s incontinent.

There have been nights that we’ve forgotten to put one on…

And woken up to cold puddles at 3am. 😝

Thank goodness for mattress protectors is all I have to say about that lol.

Frediness is a normal part of our lives now.

We’ve reached the target and are ready for take-OFF! 🚀

Dorian now has the funds to have his weepy eye removed! ✨👏 😍

Plus be neutered and FIV/FeLV tested.

When he’s recovered from surgery (and is vaccinated and microchipped) this big sweet, shy, floofy chub-cheeked guy will be ready for ADOPTION!! 🤗

To say we are over the moon is simply an understatement! ðŸ˜

We’re completely blown away tbh.

A case like Dorian’s is a BIG undertaking.

Enucleation is a super expensive surgery normally.

But our #VeterinaryPartners have made it possible by giving their time and many resources freely.

We are just a couple of foster carers with a small community following (and great vets), wanting to do what we can for cats in the

WA Wheatbelt.

And what we can now do, together, is help Dorian to THRIVE! ❤️‍🩹
