Garrett… The Cat of a Thousand Faces.

😂

A small SCAN boy with a big character, you may remember Garrett’s welcome post…

Lots of opinions and not afraid to express himself lol. 🤭

Just as Garrett was becoming comfortable with the concept of people in his life, he caught a mild case of 💍worm.

So off the our Fungas Factory

(ringworm shed 😉) he went.

Along with Brigitte, the little lady who had infected him with the short-lived skin condition.

Fast forward and he is now fungas free and ready to roll. Into a home that is. ➡️ ðŸ

A quirky lad… active, alert and independent but with a gentle heart that enjoys some nuturing. 😽

But isn’t really into being smothered with affection.

He’s a little on the skittish side and will give a hiss when startled or experiencing something new. 🙀

But that’s as far as it goes.

There’s no strike, swipe or bite in his vocabulary.

He most likely will always be a bit of a chatty lad though, freely sharing his opinions. 😸

Garrett blossoms with a balanced combination of exercise, environment enrichment and safe spaces where he can feel secure.

A quieter home and a gentle approach work best for him. 🤫

Wilson… neutered one week and spayed the next.

Say what!? 😳

It’s not every day one comes across a Hermaphrodite cat. 😲

Wilson was born with slightly different external and internal structures.

Whilst he looked like a regular boy to our untrained eyes, the vets and nurses from

Student Vet Clinic at South Metropolitan TAFE spotted that all wasn’t quite as it seemed with this beautiful and special kitty. 🤔

So when Wilson had fully recovered from his neuter, the vets at Heartlands Veterinary Hospitals York, in consultation with feline veterinary specialists, performed exploratory surgery and discovered that there was an internal mass (possibly related to female genitalia) that needed to be removed.

Huge thank you to our veterinary partners for ensuring that even the unusual cats get the care they require! 🙏

It is truly wonderful to know that we have such talented people here in Perth WA, dedicated to providing best practise care for every cat. 🌟

As for Wilson… he wasn’t sure what all the fuss was about lol. 😸

And bounced back from his second surgery procedure with no complications.

Nature is amazing and surprising. 😍

And Wilson reminds us that every cat is a unique cat.

Though not designed with Australian wildlife in mind, it’s still a powerful reminder that rodenticide is 💥 DANGEROUS 💥 to more than just mice and rats.

A safer alternative?

🐈‍⬛ Cats of course 🐈‍⬛

While no solution is perfect, working cats are a more natural answer to rodent overpopulation.

As long as the cats themselves are sterilised!

Or the end result is feline overpopulation. 😬

Less rats but more cats is NOT the goal. ❌
