A young mum from last kitten season who really struggled with skin and coat issues.

❤️‍🩹

It took a long time after her kittens were weaned for her hair to grow back in.

Ringworm, patchy hair loss, dry skin, poor coat quality. She looked a mess for months. 😥

All signs of inadequate nutrition over a long time period.

Causing a dysfunctional skin and digestive microbiome.

And weakened immune system. 😬

The fate of many feral cats unfortunately.

We really can’t underestimate the importance of nutrition.

Or overestimate some commercial pet food products. 👈

All it takes to be a conscious feeder is a little knowledge of cats. And cat food.

We owe them that much at least. âœ

Gulliver enjoying life… Cat style. 😻

FeLV positive Gully is an active, smoochy, cheeky boy who comes when he’s called and surprises us with his antics! 🌳😲🌳

He does have a harness, which I’ll show in another reel.

But I’m thinking we need an extra long lead now to keep up with this floofy, flying rocket lol. 🤔

Gully’s current Claim to Funky Fame is that he needs dental work.

Like many immunocompromised cats, he has gingivitis.

Despite measures to control its progression, the ‘Thin Red Line’ is now out of control and requires comprehensive teeth cleaning (and most likely extractions) in order to keep Gulliver comfortable.

Any assistance to cover these costs would be gratefully received!

Sadly, cats like Gulliver aren’t on everyone’s ‘wish list’ for adoption. 😥

He requires a high quality raw diet and natural supplements to keep him healthy. 🍗

And we don’t know how long we will be blessed with his company.

So we do what we can for him, and so far he has defied the odds!

Being exposed to FeLV at around 4 months of age (or earlier, we aren’t exactly sure), he has overcome many childhood illnesses and makes every day count. 👌

But whether he has one year… or many years ahead of him, one thing is certain.

His teeth need attention now. ❤️‍🩹

It is a risk, as the stress of dental work is not at all ideal for an immunocompromised cat.

However we must give him this chance and pray for the best outcome.
