Where DO all these country cats come from?

The 🌾Wheatbelt🌾 is the third most populated region in Western Australia.

It includes over 200 communities 🏘️ and around 4,700 farms. 🚜

That potentially adds up to (at least) around 5,000 colonies.

Of CATS.

5,000 COLONIES of cats.

Lycan, Paisley, Gizmo, Mogwai, Arimas and Latte are often regulars in the fluff-nest. 😽

Whilst Azi, T-Bear, Lil Bear and a few others tend to like a lil space.

The other night we had a newbie bed bug for an hour or so.

Tash, a pint sized super void, has gained confidence since her introduction to house cat life…

We found her curled up in a tight ball in the middle of the mix. 🤗

Kmart can keep their weighted blankets.

We can hardly move as it is. ðŸ˜

🌟Felix in Jelly🌟 So cheap, right?

Especially bulk buying the big boxes!

(Jelly has less carbohydrates than gravy).

Sure, Felix has its limitations in terms of quality cat nutrition.

BUT… It’s 💦 WET 💦 food!! 😻

I also keep stocked up on a whole variety of other wet commercial food.

Like Leaps and Bounds. 🤗

Because… ⤵️

* Every cat is unique

* Every cat has opinions

* Every cat needs slow diet transitions

There are also the cats with quirky guts. 😬

Sensitivities, unbalanced microbiomes, underlying health issues…

And picky palates. 🤷

Freaky Friday… Woke up to this. 😳

Latte (aka Larty Farty 😹)…

She’s better than an alarm clock.

Latte is a Kulin kitty. One of the lucky ones.

She doesn’t have FIV, FeLV or FIP.

The 3 F’s which are so prevalent in that beautiful Wheatbelt town. 🌾

But she does have a #FunkyCat issue.

Slight nasal discharge. 🤧

Which can be common for cats from inbred and overpopulated colonies.

She’s one of our forever fosters. 😘

A cat that isn’t ‘highly adoptable’ due to a

health or behavioural issue.

But to me, her sneezes make her perfect!

The more need, the more love. 💞

This is the time of year when we hope to find homes for #lessadoptablecats 🤞

The older, scruffier…

The scared and the scarred.

The ones overlooked,

The ones that are marred. 😿

These are the cats that shine the brightest for me. 🌟

And there are plenty needing love, right now,

at SAFE Avon Valley

They may be freaky.
