Gulliver’s #antics 🫣

He’s a #CheekyChonk this one! ðŸ˜

Scampers out the door sometimes when you least expect it.

Leads you on a merry chase just for the h@ll of it. 😂

He’s like a dog with no recall.

But he always makes sure you’re following him lol.

Gully has #FeLV, so he missed out on being adopted as a kitten.

But we’ve given him a home and he’s living his best life with his FeLV mates, Cinnamon and Lightbulb. 🧡

Fred’s Diaper Diaries… 😄

As promised, here is Fred in his suspenders.

🤭

Keeping his diaper attached to his harness so that it doesn’t slide off.

The ‘suspenders’ are actually mitten clips from Amazon, designed to attach mittens or gloves to a coat so they don’t get lost.

They consist of a clip at either end of a stretchy material band.

The clip doesn’t catch in his coat and seems comfortable to use when he is being supervised

(by us, not Shai the elderly nanny dog lol).

They are perfect for keeping Fred’s various diapers in place. 👌

Though the harness used here wasn’t the best fit for the job.

So after some research, we purchased a different style of harness, which works much better.

This dog LOVES the vet!! 🤗

I’ve never seen a dog SO excited to visit the vet!

But she practically drags me inside every time haha. 😆

Heartlands Veterinary Hospitals has won Yennefer’s heart forever. 💖

Maybe it’s the treats, maybe it’s the treatment? 🤷

Whatever it is, Yen is all onboard!

Her #spay site is gradually healing and her eyes are doing extremely well.

There is only minimal #CornealAbrasion and she no longer has eyelashes rubbing on her eyes…

Can you imagine the relief?! 😲

Meet Dorian Stray 🩶

We heard about a young Kulin lad with a #FunkyEye earlier this year and managed to trap him with #CommunitySupport 🎉 #ThankYou

His eye was damaged either by an accident or infection at some time in his life on the streets.

He’s been putting on weight, receiving vet prescribed medication and learning to be friendly.

Basically, he’s been a busy boy! ☺️

But now he needs special surgery to remove his heavily scarred eye so that it doesn’t cause him issues in the future. #enucleation

We’re hoping to raise the funds before the end of winter, so…

Well, after weeks of experimenting, I can confidently say that kittens and diapers go together like… nope 🤪

So basically, Fred is very active, in his own wonky way.

And keeper a diaper on his rear is tricky.

Well… Impossible really 🤷

He kept squirming and sliding out of everything we tried.

So what was the solution?

Suspenders. 😳 Lol, yep, mini suspenders.

And yeah, Colin’s poor chair needs a deep clean. 😆

Shy Eric 🖤🤍🖤

Waayy back on the 12th of the 12th 2021, be began fostering Eric from SCAN (Street Cat Appeal Narrogin).

We thought he was ‘Eileen’ until vet day 🤭 oops, and he’s been patiently waiting for his turn at a #ForeverHome ever since.

Why has he been in #FosterCare for so long?

Because there are too many cats needing homes and not enough homes needing cats. 😒

But Eric’s big day came this week 🎉 and we said our goodbyes as he transferred over to SAFE Avon Valley to be introduced to potential new families. 🤗

Maybe that’s you? 💁

Eric is still a shy boy, but he loves, loves, LOVES his food!!

And doesn’t mind gentle head and booty rubs from the right people.

You’ll see him head-butt and elevator-butt when he’s in the zone lol. ðŸ˜

He’s great with other cats, has lived with dogs and isn’t needy of attention.

The perfect independent tux really.

These clips are a few weeks old. But I had to share them.

If Fred looks a little different to the average kitten, that’s because he is. 🤷

He has some neurological problems.

Including mobility challenges and pee incontinence. 🫣

We’ve been experimenting with diapers and devices to keep his pee contained.

It’s sure been a learning curve and then some! 😂

Yennefer and Fred got fixed!! 🛠️

Sunday we visited the amazing Heartlands Veterinary Hospitals in York with our fosters, Yen the Shar Pei cross and Fred the wonky kitten.

We’re so, so #thankful to all the amazing veterinary staff and to the Spay It Forward by WA Pet Project program! 🙏

Anxious dog Yen enjoyed the attention and Fred, well, Fred was completely clueless. 🤣

Best of all, they won’t ever be making puppies or kittens to overcrowd our pounds or rescues.

That’s worth celebrating! 🥳

Yen also had an extra experience…

Her ‘rolled in’ eyelashes, which were constantly irritating her eyes, have been surgically corrected.

✨🤩✨

She’ll live the rest of her life PAIN FREE!!

And not go blind due to eye ulcers!

Both Yen and Fred are recovering extremely well.

Yen slept deeply all night and is alert and hungry today.

It’s so peaceful when they’re asleep ðŸ˜

Our brindle boy Taran and his #FosterFriend, Yennefer, play all day and sleep like dogs all night lol.

Yen is booked in for her #spay surgery tomorrow, so please keep her in your thoughts. 💭

She is a very anxious dog and can have panic attacks, where her heart rate becomes dangerously high. 😬

So we are taking precautions, like vet approved calming medications and staying with her until surgery, for morale support.

If you have an #anxiouspet, it can really help to make a plan with your vet prior to any appointments. 💁

When we trapped this Kulin ginger lad, Colin called him Nut.

He was all sour looks and hissy teeth, wanting nothing to do with us. 😬

It’s amazing what a few months and a few hundred feeds will do.

Kudos to Colin for turning this nut into a Pistachio.
