Two of the MANY kittens we have fostered over the years from ð¾Kulinð¾
A very small WA town that has a very BIG feral cat problem! ð«¨
Bubble and Squeak have come a long way folks!
From scrawny, sickly kittens on the streets… ð¥º
To healthy teens with their whole lives ahead of them. â¨
They’ve had their vet work done and are ready for adoption. ð¤
We were SO happy to learn that their FIV and FeLV tests came back NEGATIVE!! ð
Unfortunately, many stray cats and kittens from Kulin have FIV (feline AIDS) or
FeLV (feline leukaemia).
Both are ð¥highly transmissibleð¥ viral diseases.
FeLV in particular is a VERY nasty illness that can cut a cat’s life short! ð¬
It’s especially dangerous for kittens.
The Kulin torti kitten sisters, Cinnamon and Nutmeg, were diagnosed last year with BOTH FIV and FeLV. A double whammy!
Nutmeg unfortunately had to be euthanized as her kidneys were shutting down. ð
Thankfully Cinnamon survived and thrived, though she isn’t expected to live a long life.
These diseases can be easily passed to other cats in the community.
Even owned cats who are let outside to roam and mix with stray cats. ð°
That’s one reason why keeping cats inside or with access to a secure cat run is safest for them!
Sterilise your cats, keep them contained and NEVER introduce a new cat or kitten to your home unless they have been vet checked and tested for FIV and FeLV. â¼ï¸
Bubble and Squeak are among the lucky ones.
If you can offer them a forever home and a loving future, please contact
