Wimbles at the vet 🫶

Does this girl EVER slow down?

Nope. She doesn’t. ðŸ˜

She’s an adventurous soul with a heart of gold. 💛

A lass who’s always on a mission.

And she has a few scars to show for it lol. 🫣

Wimbles may have started life in a really rocky spot but she’s determined to make up for it now.

Thank you Forrestdale Veterinary Hospital for taking care of Wimbles and her upper respiratory infection. 🙏

She’s responding very well to the medication.

And, as usual, is bouncing around with more energy than she knows what to do with haha.

Wimbles 🖤💛🖤

Early last year we pulled a sickly ball of black fluff from under some metal construction materials.

And welcomed Wimbles into our lives. 🤗

And our dishwasher apparently. ðŸ˜

Anyone else have a cat that is fascinated by whitegoods? 🙋

We have to be careful she doesn’t get stuck in the fridge.

Wimbles has been healthy all summer 💪 (after losing her eye to an upper respiratory infection last year).

She has had some nasal discharge lately though.

So we booked a vet appointment to get her health back on track. ↗️

Two cats in a… Litter tray? ðŸ˜

Zeus… that cheesy grin makes me laugh!

So yeah, these lads love litter trays.

Maybe it’s the security? 🤷

Whatever the reason, they’ve taught me that litter trays make great cat beds.

Relatively cheap. âœ

Easy to clean. âœ

Solid construction. âœ

Line with a towel in summer and a cosy blanket in winter. 💁

Place different sizes in different locations, so they can choose to snuggle up… Or not.

Just make sure cats know the difference between the bed and the *actual* litter tray lol.

Thankyfully these boys have got it figured.

These independent, shy lads are still looking for a laid back household.

* They don’t eat a lot.

* They aren’t very active.

* They get on with other cats.

* They don’t need to be entertained.

They just need a place to call home. 🧡🖤

Colin has been checking the temperatures around our yard.

Quite fascinating to see how quickly the temp drops when water is sprayed on the ground…

or even metal sheeting. 🌡️

We have a few water stations for the insects, reptiles and birds that share our home. ⛲

With leaves and sticks for the smaller critters to get in and out safely.

It really does make a huge difference.

In this heat, a little water can mean the world! 🙏

Gulliver and Cinnamon update… 🧡🩶

Hard to believe we’ve actually had some (a few? 🤔) cooler days this summer isn’t it?

Poor Gully hasn’t been able to get outside much lately…

And of course, outside is Gully’s *favourite* thing.

(He LOVES his large enclosure and harness walks).

But every now and then it’s cool enough for a little bird watching at least. 🐦

We have a few secure stations under shady trees where he and Cinni can quietly enjoy the views without becoming too energetic.

Although Gulliver has lost his winter coat, the summer version still needs regular brushing.

(I decided not to give him a trim this year as he isn’t a fan of being clipped. 😼)

Surely cooler days are coming soon?

Gully really hopes so! 🤞

Jones in the kitchen? 😲

Apparently this is now a thing! 💁

He’s one of the most reclusive kitties we foster.

But has decided he’s willing to pay the ‘pat tax’ for a sneak sampling of whatever I’m mixing up.

This shy lad has been with us for a couple of years now.

Originally a SCAN (Street Cat Appeal Narrogin) cat, he has always been a reclusive boy. 😶‍🌫️

After recovering from ringworm, being neutered and then having surgery to fix an abdominal hernia, he eventually graduated to ‘house cat’.

He’s one of those felines who is happy to merge in with the furniture. 🪑

And loves hanging out in the backyard enclosure.

Gets on with cats of all sorts, no issues with dogs…

Predictable, independent and non-needy. âœ

He’s been waiting in the wings for a chance to show his quiet Jonesy personality.

An introverts dream cat really. 🤗

I’m hopeful someone will offer this boy a forever home one day. 🏡

In the meantime, we’ll continue to love him every day.

Our foster dog, Yennefer, loves to run.

(When the weather isn’t too hot).

And gosh is she FAST.

Amazing to see how her confidence has grown.

And her recall skills.

She’s had some health issues which prevented her from being spayed last year.

But she’ll be ready for her vet work soon. 👩‍⚕️

And will need #entropion surgery to correct her inward rolling eyelashes.
