We need more funds (around $150) and then Dorian can have his enucleation surgery!

Sooo, so close! 🤏

At the moment, his eye looks OK one day and then is weepy the next.

I imagine it doesn’t feel too great. 😬

Sometimes he’s playful and more outgoing.

Other days he’s quiet and shy.

I think once the surgery is behind him, he will be able to relax and really engage with us.

He’s stuck in limbo at the moment. 🥺

So let’s get his vet work done and dusted!

And move this cat into a home of his own for Christmas. ✨🔔✨

We see you and can’t express how much your support really means!

It’s literally the difference between us being able to open our home…

Or having to close our doors.

The costs of care for the foster cats includes food, fuel, litter, cleaning supplies, veterinary medical treatment, sterilisation…

It all adds up.

I mean, it *really* adds up! 🫣

Here’s just one item I don’t like to be without…

Royal Canin Recovery food for sick cats.

Bob was just one of the cats this year who needed syringe feeding for a few days when he had the flu. ❤️‍🩹

We received our My Pet Warehouse order today and I’m relieved to be stocked up again!

When you send us funds…

this is what they are used for.

We can’t pay for it all ourselves (though we did do that for years and would have been happy to continue doing so).

But times are getting tougher.

Much tougher. 😬 Right?

And so we need a community supporting us…

So that we can support the community cats. 🤝

An update on Bob… 🧡

This old fella has been struggling for awhile to get his feet back under him. 🥺

After his #neuter surgery, he had a flu flare-up and stopped eating for a few days.

While we worked to keep him hydrated and medicated, he was also receiving veterinary prescribed drops for his ear infections.

And oh my gosh, the dirty discharge that poured from his ears for weeks was unbelievable!

😱

The amount of packed in debris that each ear held was truly astounding!

I doubt he was able to hear much at all.

It caused hair loss around his ears and was a constant source of irritation for poor Bob. 😬

His ears are looking clear now, though he will be getting them checked out at the vet again soon to ensure that they are completely clean.

I’m still working on his tail though…

With medicated shampoo washes.

Bob isn’t a fan… But I distract him with food and scritches (both of which he loves!) 🤗

Please keep Bob in your thoughts. 🙏

And #PleaseShare to raise awareness of the health needs of stray elderly cats.

He has almost recovered…

And if the weather holds fine, I think he will finally be able to shake off his snuffles completely. 😻

We recently had a scare in the outdoor cat enclosure.

Came home to find *half* a Western Brown snake. 😳

The end half to be precise. 😬

Gwardar’s are beautiful… but poisonous!

And thankfully the cats weren’t bitten.

We had secured our cat enclosure to keep cats in and birds out…

But we didn’t expect a snake to get in.

Yikes! 😵‍💫 We’ve hardly ever seen one here.

It was probably just passing through.

Environment enrichment is great for cats…

But snakes sure aren’t.

And cats aren’t good for snakes either. 😥

So now we’re working on more ways to discourage snakes from our property and ensure they can’t access the cat enclosure. âœ

This friendly, though shy, lass from Kulin is a mystery.

She appeared in someone’s house and gave birth to 3 sweet babies. 🤷

Attempts have been made to locate an owner through SAFE Avon Valley via social media and community networks, but with no luck.

She doesn’t have a collar, ID tag or #microchip to aid in identification.

Cats can’t tell us who they are…

So #microchipping is REALLY important! ⚠️

Snow White is headed to Cat Haven this week so that she and her adorable kittens can have a chance at finding their #ForeverHomes.

We noticed a little eye discharge from a couple of the kittens, so they also had a vet checkup last week. âœ

Our thanks to Heartlands Veterinary Hospitals for giving these babies such a positive

‘first vet visit’ experience! 😽

All are doing well so far. 👌

In fact, they are super chonks haha!

What in the kitten is going ON here? 😃

We noticed a few teeny tiny flu signs

(just a shiny nose, drop of ‘eye goop’ or mini sneeze can be enough of a warning bell in neonates)… ⚠️

And so it was high time to get these babies vet checked! 👩‍⚕️

Huge #ThankYou to Heartlands Veterinary Hospitals in York for giving these kittens a thorough going over. 👏

They were checked from tip to tail and given the all clear for now. âœ

Our job is to keep a close eye on them in case they need veterinary assistance in the coming weeks.

Just imagine if Mumma Noirette had given birth to this litter on the streets. 😬

Like her previous litters, they wouldn’t all have made it.

Some would have become sick and not recovered. 😞

Which is why strays need to be sterilised!

The streets are NO place for kittens to be born! ☠️

If you see a stray, think SPAY!

It’s the season to be spooky… 👻

BUT Boofy Boo has lost his spook lol.

He prefers to be a bit of a sook now. 🤗

It’s helpful to pair up a more confident, friendly stray with a skittish one.

Destiny’s smoochiness is rubbing off on her brother.

And I’m not complaining ðŸ˜

A few weeks ago these younglings were living UNDER a house.

And now they have learned to live IN a house.

That’s something to celebrate! 🥂
