Laundry with Cats ðŸ˜

What in the linen is going on here?

Please tell me I’m not the only one lol 🙃

Mogwai camped out on towels,

me (sort of) humming 😜 and our dogs playing tug o’ war in the house 😂

Just an average day in my life really lol.

Every time I open a door, there’s bound to be at least one cat behind it 🫣

We gave up on herding cat hair years ago.

It’s just an accepted part of life now 😬

Anyone else find a cat when they open their cupboards?

Show me a photo if you have one plzz!

Where are my crazy cat people at? 🤗

And what’s Mogwai’s story?

His mum jumped out a bathroom window when Moggy and his siblings were only around 2 weeks old 😲

Mum cat never returned so the litter was hand raised.

But Mogwai was the runt and didn’t do well.

By the time he came into our care, he was 7 weeks old but around 300 grams 🥺

That’s TINY!!

I worked hard to keep him alive long enough to get him to his vet appointment 🤞

But he surprised everyone with a will to live that seemed too big for his small body.

That very day his life turned around.

He started to grow and kept going! 👏

We adopted Moggy ourselves due to his ongoing health needs.

He battles with sinusitis and gingivitis, common in cats who had a rough start ❤️‍🩹

But despite the challenges, he shows up each day to live the best life he can.

On our towels 😍 What a cat!

I woke to 12 cats on the bed recently 😄

Couldn’t get them all in the pic.

At 12 o’clock and going clockwise we have Lycan, Arimus, T Bear, Fred, Gizmo, Toby,

Mr Darcy, Trucker and Paisley in the middle.

From Toodyay, Karratha (via Cat Haven), Narrogin, Northam, York, Narrogin,

Bakers Hill, Kulin and Kulin.

A stray cat bouquet from across WA ðŸ˜

Fred doesn’t normally get to sleep on the bed all night as he won’t wear a diaper and he won’t stay on a waterproof cover 🤨

So because he’s semi urinary incontinent, he sleeps elsewhere so we don’t wake up with a wet bed.

Like we did this day lol 🫣

Oops 😬 Thanks Fred.

But he’s so darn cute and hilarious, he gets away with anything! 😘

Ranga and a drum roll plzzz… 🤩

✨🥁✨ 🥁✨

For the first time in OVER 3 years, we have UNDER 30 foster cats! 🙀

29 to be exact 😸

Oh. My. GOSH!!!

I simply cannot convey HOW incredible this moment is!

Monumental *might* come close 🤏

But if you’ve ever had a whole bunch of fosters for years (60 on average for us) 😵‍💫 you know.

You know the work 😮‍💨, no days off and

the astronomical COST!! 😩

It’s not a job. Not a career. It’s a lifestyle.

Or a catstyle maybe lol?

Whatever it is, it’s NOT sustainable for us.

We’re in our 50’s and we NEED to slow down.

But it’s hard to say “no” to people in crises.

And it’s hard to say “no” to the cats who have nowhere to go 😿

Yes and no mean life and death in rescue.

Which is why we want to spend time on empowering others.

Through collaboration we can achieve more.

A sustainable solution that is powered by the hands of many.

More on that to come…

But for now, we said a bittersweet goodbye to one of our working foster cats, Ranga.

He’s at Cat Haven WA to find his forever home 🧡

Originally from a colony near Narrogin, he’s taken years to get ready for adoption.

Being a barn cat over winter has left him a tad on the tubby side 😅 but he’s honed his hunting skills, so if you have a rodent problem, Ranga is your guy! 👌

Friendly and talkative, Ranga doesn’t like other cats but loves to be loved by people 🤗

Please contact the Haven if you have the perfect home for him!

PS – He does need to eat a quality WET diet to keep him healthy ⚠️

Herman and his hooman… 😘

We’ve been working with this lad since late last year.

He’s taken awhile to get to this stage.

And he’s still a very shy chap!

He headed off to Cat Haven WA this morning, along with Trucker, Wembles, Ranga and Marnia 🤩

I’m hoping that Herman will relax more after his neuter.

It can be difficult for the tomcats to hand in the feral card with all those hormones hyping up their system 😬

Our darling Truckie WooWoo 🤗

Early morning lovin’ with a special Kulin boy.

(And funds needed please 🫶)

The first time I saw Trucker he looked like any other scrappy feral teen cat in a trap.

The usual parade of hisses and swipes followed.

But it wasn’t long before his natural curiosity surfaced 😼

Trucker has grown and shown us what he’s capable of.

Confidence and character in spades!

Good with cats, dogs, people and food ðŸ˜

He’ll have a crack at eating whatever you’re about to put in your mouth 😜

Once settled into his territory, this lad hits top speed and soon has everyone wrapped around his paws.

Trucker and four other fosters are off to

Cat Haven WA to find their forever homes tomorrow.

Hard saying goodbye, but so grateful they have the chance at adoption 😻

First we need to fundraise $100 for the intake fee.

Blue is a people cat through and through.

Can be temperamental with other cats.

But seems OK with respectful dogs.

And Blue Blue is recovering well from his neuter 👌

There’s been some big changes for these

two lately.

They had only just started to settle into their new routine when everything changed again 🫣

Blue Blue visited the vet and came back smelling quite different (very puzzling for Lioness!) 😾

BUT, he tested NEGATIVE for FIV / FeLV!

👏 Soooo happy about that!

The Lady herself still hasn’t forgiven me for peeking in her ears 😬

So we’re going slow and giving them both time to process.

I can’t guarantee a quiet house at meal times though ðŸ˜

Anyone else wish they could dial down the volume somtimes?

She’s a ‘hands off’ kind of gal, but I needed to check out her ears.

Oh my, she was NOT impressed with my audacity! 🫣

The lady is unavailable for comment at this time.

But while she gathers her composure, let’s talk about what she needs…

* An ‘elderly cat’ health vet check

* Ears syringed under anaesthesia

* Examination to determine if she is spayed

Her companion Blue Blue has braved the

vet visit and now it’s time for Lioness to do likewise.

Please send comforting vibes 😘

This will be a challenging time for her Ladyship.

Blue Blue’s journey… 💙

What an unusual stray this old lad is.

His past history is a bit of a mystery 🤷

(No chip, no snip, no collar, no clues)

But he’s been well loved by his foster mum since coming into care though! 💞

Today he went to Forrestdale Veterinary Hospital for a health check, neuter and

snap test.

Amazingly, he doesn’t have FIV or FeLV! 🤩

He also doesn’t have any teeth.

Like none at all 😯

But he does have a piglet tail.

It twists around about 3 times and is quite unique!

Fostering is never dull is it ðŸ˜

Any ideas on his colouring?

Chocolate point maybe? 🤔

Seal point perhaps?

Part Burmese probably?

This lad is bonded with his friend, Lioness.

More on her to come 🫶
