This little lady came into our care from a Kulin colony last year.
Her caretaker said that her eye had always looked scarred, so it must have happened very early on in her life.ð¥º
I was concerned with her health when she was trapped and so we got her a spay appointment asap.
Turns out it was just in time! ð¬
She had one unhealthy kitten floating in her pyometra (infected) uterus. ð
Huge thanks to Forestdale Veterinary Clinic for saving Pirette’s life!
And saving an unviable kitten from the stresses of being born. ð
â ï¸ Pyometra is a very dangerous condition and is a great reason to get cats spayed! â ï¸
A little while ago (I’m a tad ð¤) behind on my blogging, oops, Pirette had a digestive issue.
We aren’t sure exactly what caused it…
Perhaps she became a little constipated?
At any rate, we took her straight to Heartlands Veterinary Hospitals where she also got her eye checked out again.
It hasn’t changed in appearance at all, but the recommendation is to have it removed as she isn’t able to see out of it.
And it may cause her pain in the future.
So we’ll be starting another Enucleation Fundraiser (this will be our 3rd one) to try and raise enough for Pirette’s scarred eye to be removed. â¤ï¸âð©¹
In the meantime, her gut issue has resolved with some gentle laxatives and diet change.
And she is living comfortably as a foster cat, waiting for her turn at adoption. ð½
