Granny ‘Mumma Ginger’ Update… ð§¡
(Day after spay)
Surgery can be hard on the elderly strays with FIV. ð¥º
But Mumma is coping quite well.
She was still feeling the effects of anaesthesia in this reel, so I was able to get a little ‘hands on’ and check her incision site.
(Mumma is an independent lass who has opinions about people and prodding lol) ð¾
Her body is working hard to heal and adjust.
She has a goopy eye as a result of her FIV issues, which I will keep clean and seek veterinary assistance for if symptoms don’t improve. ð©ââï¸
But on the plus side, she’s active, eating, eliminating… ð
And VERY happy to be back with her family of female offspring. ð
Mumma’s veterinary costs are expected to come in at around the same as Spicette’s…
$250 for Spay and Snap test.
We’re fundraising now for these costs also.
Two spays needing full sponsorship at the same time! ð«¨
There’s a reason for that.
We’re on a tight time schedule to get all of our unsterilised and ‘less adoptable’ fosters to the vet before kitten season begins again in September.

Of course, every other rescue and carer in Perth is trying to do the same thing. ð¬
And there are only a limited number of veterinary partners available.
